Tutorial: How to upload a torrent to RaceSimTracker.com with µTorrent

Step 1: Download and install µTorrent

1. You will need to download and install µTorrent, click here to download

Step 2: Creating the .torrent file

1. Open µTorrent and click on the top left: 'File' > 'Create New Torrent', or click the keyboard shortcut 'CTRL + N'
2. In the dialog that opens, select the file or folder you want to share in the field 'Select Source'
3. Important: In the 'Trackers' text box fill in this url: http://www.racesimtracker.com/announce.php
4. Important: Check the check box 'Start seeding', if you do not do this you will run into trouble later when activating the torrent
5. Leave the remaining fields empty and unchecked as in the example below, they are not required
6. Click on the button 'Create and save as...' and save the .torrent file to your desktop

Example:

Create a torrent of the file or folder you want to share

1. Go to 'Upload Torrent' on RaceSimTracker.com, here
2. In the 'Torrent File' field, select the .torrent you created in µTorrent from your desktop
3. In the 'Torrent Name' field, fill in the name of what you are uploading, this is the name users will see in the torrent list
4. Optional: Upload images (e.g: of car or track) if you like
5. Select the appropriate category for your upload
6. Select the appropriate language for your upload, put english by default
7. In the 'Torrent Description' field, fill in the description of your upload and add the credits
8. Click the button 'Upload Torrent'

Fill in the required upload form fields

1. Your torrent has been uploaded to RaceSimTracker.com
2. You have to make your torrent active now by seeding it, so other users can download the shared file or folder from you
3. Click as shown in the example below, Download Now and open the downloaded torrent file with µTorrent, see example below
4. µTorrent will ask you to load the trackers from the downloaded torrent, click 'Yes' as shown in the example below

Download the torrent to update µTorrent with the tracker which includes your passkey to activate the torrent and seeding

µTorrent will ask to update the trackers, click 'Yes'

Congratulations, you have now successfully uploaded your torrent. The torrent should be active now and show in the torrent list. Keep the torrent seeded for as long as possible so users are download your files and help you with seeding
